The birth of the fischerstube brewery.
It is thanks to the doctor Hans Jakob Nidecker that we have been able to eat and drink well at Rheingasse 45 for half a century. But how did he come to brew his own beer in the first place?
When he bought the Fischerstube restaurant, he actually wanted to use the Warteck, which was located in the neighborhood at the time. However, the beer cartel, which was still in force at the time, knew how to prevent this. Without further ado, he decided to launch Ueli beer – the start of a real success story!

Some of the legendary Ueli beer is still produced at the place where it was founded. From the dining room of the Fischerstube restaurant, you can even see the large cauldrons in which it ferments.
